Wedding Photography Barden Towers | Wedding Photographers Leeds
I have photographed quite a few weddings at The Priests House, Bolton Abbey over the last few years and each and every one is different and unique in its own way. Marc & Olivia chose to get married between christmas and new year and got what everyone dreams of when booking a winter wedding. During the early hours of their day the snow fell and fell and fell!!! it was like a winter wonderland. Its was my first ever opportunity to provide snowy wedding photographs and they are amongst some of my favourite to date!! I met up with them at the Red Lion in Burnsall where they got ready in the manor house.
The journey from Burnsall to the beautiful converted rustic Yorkshire wedding venue was a little scary!! the hill up to it is quite steep and the roads were treacherous. I was grateful of my 4×4 truck to get me there!! Once we arrived at The Priests House it was a great opportunity to capture the guests arrival, a little different to my normal weddings, it was the first time id seen guests arrive in wellies but i loved it!!!
The chapel was laid out beautifully ready for the ceremony. It has been lovingly restored over the last few years and is quite a unique wedding venue. The light reflecting through the huge old windows was breathtaking as it reflected off of the blanket of freshly fallen snow outside. Debbie and her team always do an amazing job of making everything run so smoothly, the guests were welcomed and brought inside out of the cold.
Olivia arrived in style with her Dad who walked her down the aisle. She carried the most beautiful bridal bouquet and managed to walk the long path in her heels.
As more snow was forecast it made sense to head straight outside for photographs before the snow on the ground was ruined by people out exploring the snowy Yorkshire countryside. The ancient ruins looked absolutely beautiful and with a dusting of snow on the ledges it made the prettiest backdrop for winter wedding photographs.
A little Robin visited throughout the bride and groom portraits, I didn’t notice it sat in the hedge on the day! .
It really was the most perfect winter wonderland wedding.
Olivia and her daughter carried stunning bridal bouquets which were created by the very talented Yorkshire Florists In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida
I loved the winter themed wedding decorations. The rustic table plan looked fantastic and so much time had been put into perfecting everything.
After dark we popped outside to the tower to get something a little different!!
