Grand Hotel York Wedding Photography | Natural Wedding Photographers Yorkshire
Rewind back to October, Ben & Katharine were married at the Grand Hotel & Spa in York. It is a city centre venue in the heart of York. With the view of York minster in the background we had the perfect backdrop to create city wedding photographs. This is exactly what they were looking for. Ben and Katharine both studied at York Uni then moved away to begin their careers. Naturally it only felt right to head back to York to get married where it all began.
It was quite a late wedding so i joined the girls mid afternoon for bridal prep photography. Bridal Prep is included in all my packages, i love capturing the excitement and anticipation of the morning preparations. All the tiny little details can be easy to forget. The bridal prep room was bright and airy and the girls were all relaxing and very much looking forward to the day.
Ben was also at the Grand Hotel & Spa getting ready with his best man. I met them in the hotel bar and we headed out for a few natural photographs before the ceremony.
The ceremony room was beautiful dark wood interior and the white and ivory colour scheme complimented it perfectly.
I love natural confetti wedding photographs. This one was particularly good, unfortunately its not allowed it outside the hotel. They are allowed confetti photographs as they walk up the aisle and this works beautifully.
Katharine & Ben wanted very natural wedding photographs that told the story of there day and included some of the city scenery so straight from the ceremony we headed over to the river side and then finished off with some bride and groom wedding photographs using the Roman Walls of York. It was so windy, we were losing light fast. It was a race against time to fit all the locations in but luckily managed it with time to spare!
We headed back for the wedding breakfast and the part every best man dreads – the speeches. Shortly after These were followed by a live band performing who sang the first dance live. I stayed a little later to capture lots of dancing.
