Leeds Wedding Photographers | Kate & Tom | The Normans York Weddings

Kate & Tom held their beautiful wintry wedding in November last year. The venue, The Normans is situated on the outskirts of York. The Normans is a stylish, rustic barn wedding venue in Yorkshire. It has been re-vamped from the original farm buildings into the amazing alternative wedding venue that it is today. Since my last visit they have created a beautiful space in the sitting room of the cottage attached to create a sleek dressing room perfect for bridal party hair and make up. 

Kates elegant wedding dress was from the Pronovias collection at Dotty Bridal in Holmfirth. It had the most intricate detail on the bodice, the gown fit Kate perfectly and led down to a beautiful train.   Kate and her girls spent the morning with their amazing wedding hair and make up artists in the dressing room in the cottage. I started as always by capturing all the little details. Kate had gorgeous Jimmy Choo Bridal shoes and her bouquet had been created by the fabulous Yorkshire wedding florist Clock Dandelion.  The veil had the most beautiful delicate embroidery all the way around the edges.  The barn was set and ready for the ceremony, with hundreds of delicate fairy lights to create a warm and intimate atmosphere. It really is the most beautiful ceremony room.   The ceremony With the biggest cheer of celebration, Tom and Kate walked back up the aisle, showered with delicate confetti.  The weather had been really miserable on the days leading up to the wedding so the floor was wet and as you can imagine on a working farm parts of the land leading to the outbuildings were a little muddy. Luckily the venue itself is spotlessly clean so like any good husband, Tom carried Kate to clean ground on our way back over to the courtyard to avoid those gorgeous Jimmy Choo shoes from getting muddy. It was well worth it for the photos we did get.  One of the reasons I love this venue so much is the amount of locations for pictures. I could literally spend all day there just shooting couple portraits, both indoors and outdoors.  The wedding breakfast followed, the beautiful room had been set up with the most amazing floral decorations. The speeches were full of lovely stories and lots of thankyous.  What better way to celebrate then with Russian vodka, poured through this fabulous ice structure! its the first time i’ve seen one of these before. What a brilliant idea! Then of course, cake cutting and first dance followed by some evening shots. It was freezing cold and drizzly but well worth it!  Thankyou so much for taking the time to look through this blog.
